Baseball teams like the yankees, mets, LA dodgers?

Hey so I've really gotten into baseball lately and I want to follow like the major teams in America like all the main well known ones I was wondering if someone could give me the low down? Like, which team is better, star players, games recently lost/won. Thanks heaps
