Dr Who question - Do Americans know what 'jammy dodgers' are?

No , we don't have jammie dodgers or jaffa cakes in the USA, but we do understand in relation to the context that they are either cakes ,or "cookies" as we say. We can get such things online at British specialty food shops, if we wanted, so don't pity us.
